My Story…

What you see in the old pictures is someone who had just given up volleyball halfway through college to focus on school just to wind up tearing my ACL, playing flag football of all things. Growing up extremely active playing three sports and working out all the time, I found myself in a very hard mental and physical situation where I didn’t know how to best take care of my body anymore.

After graduating nursing school, I knew that I needed to figure it out when it came to my health. Even before my injury, I spent my high school and college years really struggling mentally in situations where I did not have complete control over food or exercise, this included trips and certain social situations. I am so grateful to have been able to find incredible balance with a healthy lifestyle that does not include obsessive thoughts or restriction in terms of food and much more balance when it comes to exercise. Over the past five years, I have focussed on eating whole foods in the way God made them, optimizing my protein intake, moving my body purposefully 4-5 times a week, and enjoying all other things in moderation.

I have been able to sustainably lose over 40 lbs and have gone from over 28% body fat down to easily maintaining 17 to 18% bodyfat, all while maintaining 75 lbs of skeletal muscle mass the entire time.

What I do know for sure is that God uses all seasons of life for a purpose. For me, this journey has shaped my career by giving me a passion for sports medicine as well as inspired me to create a personal outlet to help others take care of their bodies. We are so fearfully and wonderfully made, taking care of the incredible gift that is our body is a form of thanks and praise to our incredible Creator!
